Let’s Read Romance book group schedule for Sept-Dec 2010

We decided to give our members a bit of a hand by focusing our readings. You can read anything in the category, and suggestions follow.

We will also have a group email prior to each meeting in order to help members remember the meeting.

Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month, at Kazoo Books, 407 N. Clarendon

September 1 - Contemporary

October 6 - Paranormal

Ideas: Gena Showalter, Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse series), J. R. Ward (Brotherhood of the Dagger series), Sherrilyn Kenyon, Susan Krinard, Nina Bangs, Marjorie Lui. For magic, try: Patricia Rice, Mary Jo Putney, and Yasmine Galenorn. For paranormal ‘light’, try: Katie MacAlister, Kimberly Raye (the Dead End Dating series), Ronda Thompson’s "Confessions of a Werewolf Supermodel," or Kerrelyn Sparks’ "How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire." Want time-travel? For manly Highlanders, try Janet Chapman. For alpha-male Vikings with a sensitive side, look for Sandra Hill.

November 3 – Historical, American (in honor of Thanksgiving)

Ideas: Madeline Baker, Elaine Barbieri (both write about the settling of the country and Native Americans, Catherine Coulter – her "Star" series covers the middle of the 19th century in America, early Jude Devereaux – she has a family that starts out in England and ends up in colonial America, she covers them up to contemporary times, Cassie Edwards Carol Ann Didier, Judith E. French, Leigh Greenwood, Cindy Holby, Beverly Jenkins (her characters are African American but they do neat stuff just like the European Americans who settled this country,) and Kathleen E. Woodiwiss.

December 1 – any Christmas romance Anthology, can be historical, paranormal, Regency, contemporary, etc.

This is a chance to read a favorite author while exploring someone new.
