WHAT'S NEW

Read the blogs of the Kazoo Books staff.  Owner Gloria, Romance Expert Jean, Ordering Manager John and Specialty Topics and local author Nick each have their own pages.  Learn about the history of the store, current books, special used finds, and the latest information on upcoming releases.

Also, we have also added copies of Brian Selznick's The Invention of Hugo Cabret to both stores. This is a National Book Award Finalist about a "orphan, clock keeper, and thief." Check out the adventures of a young boy with an amazing life. This is unlike any other book, as the illustrations play more of a key role than in most young-adult novels. It is sure to captivate audiences both young and old.

Speaking of art, we also have Pure Sea Glass: Discovering Nature's Vanishing Gems by author Richard LaMotte and photographer Celia Pearson. They have put together a beautiful history and reference book for any collector or enthusiast.

Don't forget that we have a number of new, signed books in stock. We have multiple copies of these books signed by best-selling authors.  However, supply of these special books is limited so come by today.

TINKER IMMORTALIZED!

Local artist Joshua Diedrich created a bust of Tinker, the bookstore cat!  Joshua's work has made it's way into collections all over the U.S. and Europe.  Now it graces the shelves at our Clarendon location as well.

Mr. Diedrich received his degree from the University of Michigan.  As well as creating art, he devotes much of his time to helping others develop their skills.  His classes can be taken through the Kalamazoo Institute of the arts, with subjects ranging from Figure and Portrait Drawing to beginning and Wildlife Sculpture.  (More info available via his site.)
